Sex, Lies, and Trump's Wars. Europe Pays for Oil — and Gets the Bomb?
Europe Watchlist for March 3, 2026 – Today we publish news and analysis on the war against Iran, its consequences for the EU, and nuclear deterrence in France and Germany.
Colleagues from the American website Axios (motto: "Smart & succinct reporting on business, technology, and politics") have calculated that US President Trump has attacked seven countries in just one year — more than any other US president in modern history. Three of these countries had never before been subjected to US military strikes: Nigeria, Venezuela, and Iran.
The EU has not distanced itself from any of these imperialistic conflicts that contravene international law. Now, the EU itself risks being drawn into the latest one — with Iran. The belligerent statements by the "Big Three" — Germany, France, and Great Britain — make this possible. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has already played along with Trump and his supporters.
If nothing prevents it, Chancellor Merz will soon follow suit. If, as planned, he speaks with Trump at the White House on Wednesday, Trump may ask Germany for support, including at Ramstein. Merz has already provided assistance to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu — allowing his government aircraft to land at Berlin's airport.
Vassal Loyalty Becomes a Threat
Even the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has set a course for war. On Monday, she convened her "Ministry of Security" in Brussels — as if the EU were a state run by her, Ursula von der Leyen. Previously, she stated that she would counter the "negative consequences of events in Iran and the Middle East" and protect citizens.
In reality, through their vassal-like relationship with Trump, EU leaders are jeopardizing Europe's security. Merz has even already questioned the value of international law. International law is actually only extolled in opposition to Russia — in the faint hope that, with Trump's help, Ukraine might still be saved somehow.
But uncertainty is also growing in Kyiv. If Trump's war drags on — and currently we're talking about four to five weeks — then stocks for defending Ukraine might run out, President Zelensky fears. And he is right: warehouses in many countries are already empty.
Trump's Lies and the Epstein Files
Europeans have fallen into Trump's trap again. Yet they had a plan for peacefully resolving the conflict with Iran. But when Trump announced the withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2018 and began a campaign of "maximum pressure," they offered him no resistance.
Now the circle has closed — with a war that was started with lies and is waged not least to divert attention from the "Epstein files" and Trump's sexual escapades. "Sex, Lies, and Trump's Wars" is the title of the current production in the world theater of the 21st century. One might laugh about it, if it weren't so sad and dangerous...

P.S. Apparently, the war involving nuclear weapons began during Netanyahu's visit to Washington on February 11th. Why Trump agreed to this remains a mystery — especially since he claimed until the very last that the Iranian nuclear program had been destroyed in the last attacks in 2025. It is equally unclear why the Europeans appear so unprepared. Or were they informed after all? That would only make matters worse…
News and Updates
Europe pays for the war. Due to the war with Iran, companies in Qatar, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia have halted oil and gas production. Prices in Europe have risen noticeably, with markets seeing an increase of 40 to 50 percent. Long queues of bewildered drivers have formed at German gas stations. The German government, of course, is dismissing it. But the European Commission is worried and is convening a working group on energy. – Meanwhile, American corporations are rubbing their hands. They can make profits, and Europe pays the bills, just like during the war in Ukraine…
Belgium stops Russian oil tanker. The Belgian army, with the support of the French army, has confiscated an oil tanker allegedly belonging to the Russian "shadow fleet." "The vessel will be escorted to the port of Zeebrugge, where it will be confiscated," said Defense Minister Francken. – The aforementioned documents are cited as the legal basis; however, they do not (yet) prohibit transit through international waters. Furthermore, they are not recognized internationally. Thus, Belgium, like France, is taking the law into its own hands…
Multi-billion euro fraud within the Coronafonds? The European Public Prosecutor's Office is investigating more than 500 possible cases of fraud within the Corona Recovery Fund. The amount of damage could reach 5 billion euros, reports Follow the Money. Most suspicions of fraud are in Italy.

is. How disconcerting.. France wants to increase its nuclear arsenal for the first time in decades. President Macron is also planning joint nuclear military exercises with Germany and other EU states such as Poland. The stationing of French fighter jets carrying atomic bombs in other European countries is also planned. This is not competition for NATO's nuclear sharing, but would "complement it perfectly," Macron said. "To be free, you must be feared," Macron added. This saying alone teaches you to be afraid — of Macron. Chancellor Merz, on the other hand, can rejoice. He is supposed to get access to the A-bomb, albeit initially only indirectly. A German-French "Nuclear Steering Group" is to advise in the future on the coordination of strategic measures and the "appropriate mix of conventional capabilities, missile defense, and French nuclear capabilities," it says in Par Does Merz get the bomb? .
